About

Though we have known each other since our early childhoods in Darlington, the Speed Dinosaurs formed in 2010 as a three piece at a friends BBQ in Leeds following an open mic night playing Bad Religion covers.

The early days of playing just covers developed into writing our own music. We have now written many songs, playing fast skiffle punk on ukulele, double bass, and cajon with lots of harmonies. Our song writing traverses a wide spectrum of topics from the serious to the sublime; including the ills of misinformation, austerity or misogyny, the benefits of working together, providing information on dinosaurs or the wonder of real ale or radio 4.

Even though we do write and play a lot of our own music, and as those who have ever seen us play live can attest to, we do still love playing covers of our favourite bands including Bad Religion, Beastie Boys, Sublime, System of a Down, Vengaboys and more (are we perhaps a product of 90s alternative music....?).

The Speed Dinosaurs are:

John (ukelele)
Jonathan (double bass)
Adam (cajon)
